Every summer, Cologne becomes the centre of the gaming universe. gamescom 2026 brings together blockbuster releases, indie developers, esports, technology, industry professionals and millions of fans for one enormous celebration of video games.
This year, gamescom features more than 1,600 exhibitors from 67 countries, occupying approximately 233,000 square meters of exhibition space. There are also 47 country pavilions representing 40 countries. And while the biggest publishers naturally attract huge crowds, gamescom’s indie scene continues to be one of its most interesting attractions. The indie area is expanding in 2026, giving smaller studios more room to showcase games that might otherwise be overlooked.
